We place the same quality requirements on our accessories as we do on our core products.

Because we understand that accessory parts are required over the entire service life of a product and that they are often subject to wear, we endeavor to ensure that each accessory remains available throughout the life-cycle of the core products. If we deviate from this in an exceptional case, we will inform you in a relevant product announcement in the Customer Support area. We recommend subscribing to these announcements electronically.

Trade goods

To be able to react quickly and flexibly to new requirements, we also use high quality accessories from major manufacturers and market these directly via our Mall.

These trade goods are then only qualified in a short power-on test. and not a system test at Siemens because the tests conducted by the manufacturer are typically regarded as sufficient. Keyboards, for example, must comply with certain technical requirements. These requirements are technical specifications, drivers, certificates and test verification documents. These are then provided by the manufacturer and are then also available for downloading on the Siemens SIOS pages. The technical properties of trade goods may differ from the assured characteristics of our own products. This can affect electromagnetic immunity, for example.
Introducing products as trade goods saves having to perform time-consuming, in-house tests, as well as applying for and generating our own certificates.

Trade goods are identified as such in the relevant technical specifications, where the manufacturer and postal address of the product can also be found.
