Siemens offers the SIMATIC IPC Support Package for VxWorks V2.0 as the successor to versions V1.0 and V1.1 to support additional Industrial Computers (SIMATIC IPC) for the VxWorks real-time operating system.

SIMATIC embedded and high-end IPC devices are supported. The following SIMATIC IPCs can therefore now be operated along with their PROFINET, PROFIBUS and hardware-based functions with the real-time VxWorks V6.9 and V7.0 operating systems:

The PROFINET onboard interfaces of the SIMATIC IPCs offer diverse options for integration of real-time solutions with SIMATIC IPC into PROFINET networks. PROFINET RT (real-time) is supported by the standard Ethernet interface of the IPC; PROFINET IRT (isochronous real-time) is supported by the onboard PROFINET interface.

Of the various Windriver product versions of the VxWorks real-time operating system, the "Industrial Devices Platform" is used.
