Use the OpenPCSВ 7 interface to directly integrate the SIMATIC PCSВ 7 process control system into host systems for production planning, process data evaluation and management. These higher-level systems (OPCВ clients) can access SIMATIC PCSВ 7 process data by means of the OpenPCSВ 7 server. However, access to the SIMATIC BATCH data is not possible.

The OpenPCS 7 server collects data for the OPC clients. Depending on the system configuration, these data may be distributed across different SIMATIC PCSВ 7 stations (OS server, central archive server). It covers the distribution of data with respect to

• time period (OS1/OS2/…)
• location (OS1/OS2/...)
• redundancy (OS1 master/OS1 standby …)
