The contactors are finger-safe according to IECВ 60529. Terminal covers may have to be fitted onto the connecting bars, depending on the configuration with other devices.

The DC motor ratings given in the tables are applicable to the DC-3 and DC-5 utilization categories with two-pole switching of the load or with the two conducting paths of the contactor connected in series.

One contactor conducting path can switch full power up to 220В V. For voltages over 220В V, the two conducting paths are to be switched in series.

Auxiliary contacts

The contactors are equipped with two lateral auxiliary switch blocks each with 1В NO + 1В NC contact. On the contactors 3TC48 to 3TC56 with AC operation, a second auxiliary switch block can be mounted on the right and left. On contactors with DC operation, expansion of the auxiliary contacts is not possible.

The contactors are suitable for use in any climate. They are suitable for switching and controlling DC motors as well as all other DC circuits.

The solenoid excitation is configured for a particularly large operating range. It is between 0.7 or 0.8 and 1.2В xВ U_s.

3TC74 contactors can be used at up to 750В V/400В A and 50В Hz in AC-1 operation.

For voltages over 750В V, the two conducting paths (3TC74: two contactors) are to be switched in series.
