Phase-out/discontinuation of SIRIUS 3RN1 thermistor motor protection relays

The phase-out period for SIRIUS 3RN1 thermistor motor protection relays began in November 2016. The devices will no longer available for ordering as from October 1, 2020. We therefore recommend that you do not delay in ordering the successor generation of thermistor motor protection relays, SIRIUS 3RN2!

The old devices can be replaced with devices from the new generation without restrictions. Our conversion tool is available for old and new as well as competitor conversions, seeВ http://www.siemens.com/sirius/conversion-tool.

Thermistor motor protection devices are used for direct monitoring of the motor winding temperature. For this purpose, the motors are equipped with temperature-dependent resistors (PTC) that are directly installed in the motor winding and abruptly change their resistance at their limit temperature.

Versions

SIRIUS 3RN1 thermistor motor protection relays are available in the following versions:

3RN1000 compact evaluation unit
3RN1010, 3RN1011, 3RN1012, 3RN1013, 3RN1014 standard evaluation units
3RN1013-.BW01 bistable evaluation unit
3RN1022 evaluation unit for 2 sensor circuits вЂњwarning and disconnectionвЂќ
3RN1062 evaluation unit for 6 sensor circuits вЂњmultiple motor protectionвЂќ

The 3RN1 evaluation units are suitable for use in any climate and are finger-safe according to IEC 60529.

They comply with

IEC 60947-8. Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear вЂ“ Part 8: "Control units for built-in thermal protection (PTC) for rotating electrical machines"
IEC 61000-6-2, IEC 61000-6-4. "Electromagnetic compatibility for industrial-process measurement and control equipment"

The terminals of the auxiliary contacts are designated in accordance with EN 60947-1.

The 3RN1 evaluation units are suitable for snap-on mounting onto TH 35 standard mounting rails according to IECВ 60715 or for screw fixing using an adapter (Accessories).

Any mounting position is possible.
