Iron output reactors for AC operating mechanisms

Output reactors are used on the load side of frequency converters and motor currents flow through them.

Output reactors compensate capacitive charge-reversal currents with long cables and, in the case of long motor cables, limit the dv/dt at the motor terminals. This enables the use of longer motor supply cables:

• 200 m shielded motor cable
• 300 m unshielded motor cable

Use of iron-core output reactors:

• Operating mechanisms with standard and trans-standard asynchronous motors and a rated motor frequency (field weakening frequency) of up to 87 Hz and a maximum frequency of 200 Hz.
• Operating mechanisms with reluctance or permanently excited synchronous motors with a maximum frequency of 120 Hz.

Note on the versions Standard (Catalog LV 60):

The following generic parameters apply, which must not be exceeded:

• Maximum motor cable length 200 m, shielded cable
• Maximum motor cable length 300 m, unshielded cable
• Maximum motor cable cross-sections for performance class:
  • up to 2.2 kW/1.5 mmІ
  • > 2.2 kW ≤ 7.5 kW/2.5 mmІ
  • > 7.5 kW ≤ 11 kW/4 mmІ
  • > 11 kW ≤ 22 kW/10 mmІ
  • > 22 kW ≤ 30 kW/16 mmІ
  • > 30 kW ≤ 37 kW/25 mmІ
  • > 37 kW ≤ 50 kW/35 mmІ
  • > 50 kW ≤ 75 kW/70 mmІ
• Maximum clock frequency 8 kHz
• Maximum motor frequency of output reactor 200 Hz
• Maximum motor frequency of sinewave filter 100 Hz
• UN 3 AC 500 V ±5 %.
