The SIMOREG CCP (Converter Commutation Protector) is used to protect line-commutated converters SIMOREG DC MASTER operating in inverter mode. In this mode line faults can cause inverter commutation failures (“conduction-through”).

The CCP limits the unpermissible large current created in this case and thus avoids destruction of fuses and thyristors.
