Reactors for AC operating mechanisms

Three-phase mains reactors for frequency converters are used in line-side infeeds. They are connected such that alternating currents with line frequency as the fundamental wave frequency flow through them.

The reactors limit the circuit feedback which can arise in the form of harmonics. In addition they reduce the alternating currents, with frequencies caused by switching of the input rectifier, in the DC link capacitors.

Two reactor series are available in the version Standard (Catalog LV 60):

• Reactors with a related voltage drop u_D of ~ 2 % for operation with converters without power recovery.
• Reactors with a related voltage drop u_D of ~ 4 % for operation with converters together with autotransformers with power recovery and for use in networks which have a u_k network of < 1 %.
