Trunking units

You can increase the degree of protection by adding additional seals and a flange to the connection positions or the outgoing point.

Feeder units

For installation at the bottom you can increase the degree of protection by adding additional seals and a flange to the connection position.

Mounting position at the bottom: BD01-FES

For installation at the side or top you can increase the degree of protection by adding additional seals and an edge protector to the sides of the incoming enclosure. For installation of the incoming enclosure at the end of the line, only one seal and one edge protector are needed.

Outgoing units

You can increase the degree of protection by adding additional seals and an edge protector to the sides of the outgoing unit.

Fixing

Universal mounting brackets

The universal mounting brackets can be used for wall and ceiling mounting. Under conditions of standard mechanical loading the maximum spacing between fixing points is 3 m for upright mounting and 1.5 m for flat mounting.

Under conditions of increased mechanical loading (e.g. the pulling of plugs) it is recommended to use an intermediate suspension point with an additional mounting bracket at the busbar enclosure.

The fixed support of the busbar line is effected by pressing in the tabs on the bracket.

Pendant brackets

The pendant brackets can be used for suspending trunking units which are mounted in flat position. Also they can be fastened to the connection points in order to increase the mechanical strength of the trunking units.

BD01-BAP

Suspension brackets

The suspension brackets can be used for wall and ceiling mounting and for suspending the system. They can be mounted in every position of the busbar enclosure. Under conditions of standard mechanical loading the maximum spacing between fixing points is 3 m for upright mounting and 1.5 m for flat mounting.

Under conditions of increased mechanical loading (e.g. the pulling of plugs) it is recommended to use an intermediate suspension point with an additional mounting bracket at the busbar enclosure.

Coding

The coding of systems with various frequencies or voltages is possible by retrofitting the BD01-K coding set locally to every outgoing point. There are four coding options.

Coding on the tap-off point

Coding of the outgoing enclosures is possible by adapting the front end (to be performed by the customer).

Coding on the tap-off unit

Sealability

Every outgoing point on the busbar enclosure can be sealed.

The incoming enclosures, changes of direction, outgoing enclosures and device enclosures can all be sealed by means of accessories (on request).

Screwed cable glands

Plastic screwed cable glands with strain relief (not included in the scope of supply of the enclosure) must be used for the incoming enclosures, outgoing enclosures and device enclosures.

Terminals

For the equipment of the outgoing units and ancillary equipment units, screw terminals from Siemens, Weidmuller or Phoenix must be used for the N and PE connection. We recommend that the terminal blocks 8WH from Siemens (see "Low-voltage power distribution and electrical installation technology", "switchgear and distribution systems", "Terminal blocks").

Fire protection

If the busbar system is routed through a fire wall or ceiling, a fire protection must be fitted. Depending on the customers requirements, Siemens offers fire barriers with a fire resistance rating of S90 (in future EI90).

Factory-fitted equipment:

• External fire protection as kit for mounting by the customer

Mineral mortar or fire protection material to seal any gaps between the busbar trunking element and the component must be provided by the customer.
