The VPM can be used in conjunction with SINAMICS S120 or SIMODRIVE 611 digital/universal HRS and 1FE1 motors as well as 2SP1 motor spindles.

The VPM must be installed between the motor and drive system (at a maximum distance from the drive system of 1.5 m (4.92 ft). Shielded 6FX8 motor supply cables must be used with the VPM.

Preconditions for operating 1FE1/2SP1 motors with SINAMICS S120:

• SINAMICS S120
• SINUMERIK 840D sl software version 1.3 and higher

Preconditions for operating 1FE1/2SP1 motors with SIMODRIVE 611 digital/universal HRS:

• SIMODRIVE 611 digital with performance control or
• SIMODRIVE 611 universal HRS with software version 3.3
• SINUMERIK 840D powerline software version 4.4 and higher
