Iron smoothing reactors for DC operating mechanisms

Smoothing reactors are used on the DC side of converter sets. DC flows through them.

• Iron smoothing reactors as series inductance for DC motors (series reactors, 4EM, 4ET series).
  Its use is required to achieve perfect commutation and reduction of motor losses, if, owing to the converter connection used, the DC ripple is too high for the DC motor. Reactors have close to a constant inductance of L up to the rated direct currentI_dn.
• Iron smoothing reactors with selectable inductance and current (series 4EM, 4ET).
  Individual adjustment of the smoothing requirements of the loads fed by the converters is possible with this reactor. Selection of the reactors takes place in accordance with the E energy content required, which is established from the inductance required (or the course of inductance over the current) and the rated direct currentI_dn. Different courses of inductance can be achieved through appropriate dimensioning.
