Three-phase commutating reactors for DC operating mechanisms

Commutating reactors for converters are used in B6 and B6C circuits from converter assemblies into the line-side infeed. It is their task to limit the line-side voltage dips during commutation of the converter. Also, by limiting the current rise rate di/dt the reactors limit the voltage rise rate du/dt at the thyristors used.

Commutating reactors can also be used for decoupling converter assemblies working in parallel.

There are various series of reactors in the version Standard (Catalog LVВ 60):

• I_{th max}= 0.8В·I_{L max} ("80В % reactors") with u_D ~ 4В % for following supply voltages: 3В ACВ 400В V, 3В ACВ 500В V, 3В ACВ 690В V, 3В ACВ 750В V
• I_{th max} = I_{L max} ("100В % reactors") with u_D ~ 2В % for following supply voltages:
  3В ACВ 400В V, 3В ACВ 690В V, 3В ACВ 830В V
  and with u_D ~ 4В % for following supply voltages:
  3В ACВ 400В V, 3В ACВ 500В V, 3В ACВ 690В V, 3В ACВ 750В V

The figures are based on a frequency f = 50В Hz.
