Overview of the energy management process

The SIMATIC ET 200S motor starters make the following contributions to energy efficiency:
- Energy management
Provision of energy data (current) via bus to higher-level systems by means of PROFIenergy (see High-Feature motor starter) - Avoidance of power consumption during dead times by disconnection by means of PROFIenergy (see High-Feature motor starter)
- Current management
Avoidance of current peaks, thus reducing the load on the grid and the mechanical system - Reduction of control cabinet temperature rises
Depending on technology, lower intrinsic power loss than speed-controlled drive systems, and therefore less cooling required (making a more compact design possible)
