A mid?performance crane application includes the following components:

Hardware

A distributed single?axis solution or a centralized multi?axis solution for trolley and gantry

• AC/AC drive comprises SINAMICS CU310?2 Control Unit and PM250/PM340/PM Power Module in chassis format with SINAMICS V4.7 for Cranes
• DC/AC drive comprises SINAMICS CU320?2 Control Unit and Motor Module in booksize format or chassis format with SINAMICS V4.7 Standard
• Selectable control via onboard I/O terminals or PROFIBUS/PROFINET
• An encoder for hoist is request for providing pendulum length of trolley and gantry
• No encoder required for trolley and gantry

Application configuration

The SIMOCRANE Drive?Based Sway Control is directly embedded in SINAMICS S120 by using CU310?2 or CU320?2. The following figures show examples for single?axis application and multi?axis application.
