Mode of operation

Communication takes place completely via PROFINET.

Comprehensive diagnostic functions are available for checking the mode of operation of the ET 200eco PN:

• BF: Bus monitoring
• SF/MT: Group fault/maintenance alarm
• ON: Elektronic/encoder/load voltage supply 1L+
• 24 V DC: Load voltage supply 2L+
• P1 LK: Port1 Link
• P2 LK: Port2 Link
• Channel status/channel fault

The diagnostics data is indicated by LEDs on the module and can be evaluated by software on the PG/PC or by the PLC.

For the digital input modules, there is channel-specific open-circuit detection, channel-wise or channel group-wise short-circuit detection of the encoder supply, and monitoring of the power supply.

For the digital output modules, there is channel-wise open-circuit and short-circuit detection and monitoring of the load supplies L1+ and L2+. The analog modules feature power supply monitoring, encoder supply monitoring, and channel-specific open-circuit and short-circuit detection.

IO-Link

IO-Link master modules permit the simple integration of IO-Link sensors and actuators of a wide variety of manufacturers to PROFINET.

As many as four IO-Link devices can be connected to each IO-Link master module.

Configuration

For connecting the modules which are not parameterized with STEP 7 to the PROFINET controller, there is a GSD file for the parameterization. This can be loaded into the configuration tool of the PROFINET controller and provides all relevant information in plain text for the parameterization of the ET 200eco PN.
