The S7-300 F CPUs can be expanded centrally with the safety-oriented I/O modules of the ET 200M. Distributed expansion is possible with the safety-oriented ET 200S, ET 200M and ET 200pro I/Os (IP67) and/or the safety-oriented ET 200eco block I/Os (IP67).

Depending on the CPU, communication takes place optionally through the MPI, PROFIBUS or PROFINET interface.
