Both the ERTEC 200 and ERTEC 400 ASICs are Ethernet Controllers with integral switch functionality and a 32-bit processor. Cyclic PROFINET IO data transfer of Real-Time (RT) and Isochronous Real-Time (IRT) message frames is all handled by the ERTEC hardware.

Thanks to the integral ARM 946 processor, the ERTEC 200 and ERTEC 400 can be used both as system-on-chip implementation for simple field devices as well as for complex and modular field devices. For this purpose, both ERTEC types have an integral LBU interface that is suitable for connecting an external host processor.

The on-chip I/O also enables direct connection of IO signals, serial interfaces, and timers.

ERTEC 200P

The ASIC ERTEC 200P is an Ethernet Controller with integral 2-port switch. It has been developed in accordance with the PROFINET specification V2.3, and is thus designed for cycle times up to 31.25 µs. The integral PHYs are optimized for PROFINET communication. Thanks to its high performance capability and compact design, it is the optimal choice for modular as well as compact field devices.

The ASIC ERTEC 200 is an Ethernet Controller with integral 2-port switch. The PHYs are also already integrated into the ERTEC 200.

ERTEC 400

The ASIC ERTEC 400 is an Ethernet Controller with integral 4-port switch and PCI interface. The 4-port switch enables flexible topologies such as star, tree and linear topologies without other external network components. Thanks to the large integrated communication memory, extensive quantity structures are possible.
