Mains reactors for frequency converters are used in line-side infeeds. Reactors limit the circuit feedback which can arise in the form of harmonics. In addition they limit the alternating currents and the frequencies caused in the DC link capacitors by switching of the input rectifier.

The use of 2 % reactors is recommended when the network inductance of the supplying network is very small. Recommendation for ratio of system fault level to drive apparent power > 33 : 1.

All the reactors presented above can be customized through adaptations to the winding and to the core air gaps.
