Target group

Customers and Siemens personnel who have to commission and maintain analog closed-loop control DC drives.

Learning targets

Participants will be able to commission a DC drive with a converter, understand the converter circuit, recognize the closed-loop control structure and optimize the control loop.

Requirements

Basic electrical engineering know-how in accordance with specialist training.

Content

Explanation of the functioning of

• DC motors
• Thyristors
• Converter circuits
• Closed-loop control circuits

Explanation of the system components and control structures of a thyristor-controlled DC drive.

Familiarization with the methods for determining the parameters of the controlled systems.

Explanation of the individual optimization steps and practical training

• on a training model
• using digital simulation techniques

The knowledge gained in this course is a precondition for the more advanced courses such as GMP3 and GMP5.
