The outlay for creating CFC programs is minimized:

• The automation task can be solved already in the configuration phase. The configuring data are converted automatically.
• Technology functions need only be parameterized by linking function blocks (AND, OR, PID controllers). Time-consuming programming is no longer necessary. Of course, FBs created with other STEP 7 programming languages can also be integrated.
• Creation of functions consisting of standard blocks is faster and less error prone than conventional programming.
• Optimal embedding in the automation world thanks to guaranteed integration into the STEP 7 tools (including HMI tools), automatic expansion of the STEP 7 project management, shared signal data with STEP 7, and embedding in the classic language world, for example, by importing standard FBs and FCs written in LAD.
• An executable code is generated more or less at the press of a button and transferred online to the programmable controller. To generate codes, STEP 7 and S7-SCL must be installed on the PG.
